White selection

Riesling

The fruit for this wine was hand-picked at less than three tonnes per acre. Only the cleanest bunches of grapes were selected for this very pure varietal wine. Pale straw in colour, this wine has very fresh, ripe, almost tropical, aromas with underlying citrus notes. On the palate it is crisp and tangy with a good acidic backbone. Mineral and limey characters dominate this still tight but elegant wine. It finishes decidedly dry but also delicate and intense. Flavours linger beautifully on the long crisp finish. This is a stunning food wine with a long life ahead and many flavours yet to evolve. Alcohol: 11.7. Acidity: 7.1. Sugars: 4.7.

Sauvignon Blanc

“Grass and gooseberry aromas and lightly sweaty fruit flavours with citrus, herbs, capsicums, lots of gooseberry and a touch of lime zest on the lingering, juicy, fresh crisp finish.” Sue Courtney, Wineoftheweek.com, December 2005 “A wine with all the qualities I’d expect from a good, solid Marlborough sauvignon blanc – enough fresh herbaceous flavours to satisfy the most jaded palate, and a full, rich pineapple/passionfruit bouquet that leaps from the glass. This is a wine with great personality and flair. I liked it immediately.” Christopher Moore. Christchurch Press, 21 December 2005 Refreshing. This attractive label (not to be confused with Riverside) was marketed originally only in Australia but is now available here. An ample Marlborough sauvignon blanc with refreshing citrus, melon and capsicum flavours and a crisp and juicy gooseberried finish. Warren Barton. Dominion Post, 18 March 2006 Pale straw with green tinges. Lots of fresh nettles and rocket, with some oak and lees complexity. Ripe and concentrated. There is plenty of fruit sweetness, balanced by a tangy acidity through the middle of the palate. Very well constructed wine. 90 points. Samantha Connew. Adelaide Advertiser, 21 January 2006
