This elegantly structured wine was produced from grapes grown on our family estate vineyards at McLaren Vale in South Australia. The colour is light straw with green tinges; the nose shows melon and grapefruit aromas with a hint of subtle French oak. The palate is fresh and lively. This wine was lightly oaked with French oak during fermentation with a cultured yeast. The Stocks Hill Chardonnay shows lifted fruit and a long clean finish.
This fresh Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blended wine was produced from our family estate vineyards at McLaren Vale. The colour of this Sauvignon Blanc Semillon wine is light straw with green tinges. The nose has grassy herbaceous freshness, that flows through to the palate, which is delicate in structure with long, lifted ripe fruits, balanced with natural crisp acidity. This Sauvignon Blanc Semillon wine style is crafted to exhibit the benefits of both varieties and to be enjoyed while the wine is young, fresh and flavoursome. Excellent with seafood, chicken and Asian cuisine.
The grapes for this mouth filling wine were grown on Pirramimma Estate at McLaren Vale in South Australia. Deep red in colour, with rich purple hues, the nose shows touches of ripe blackberries; lifted spice and pepper varietal character and a hint of sweet vanillin oak. The palate is rich and full of flavour showing good depth and balance while the finish is long and smooth.
From mature vines that have consistently produced the highest quality fruit comes this elegant wine. Deep red in colour, the palate shows rich berry and blackcurrant fruit flavours. The lifted Cabernet fruit combines with oak barrel characteristics to produce a wine of great length and complexity.
This soft, elegant wine is a blend of Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot produced from twenty year old vines. A combination of high cordon trellis, hand pruning and ideal regional growing conditions produce grapes with a full berry flavour and good acid balance. The nose exhibits spicy berry and plum like characteristics, with the palate showing considerable complexity and richness, balanced with soft oak tannins.
Researched for eleven years before the release of the first vintage in 1994, the Pirramimma Petit Verdot vineyard was the first and is now the largest in Australia. Pirramimma Petit Verdot has won 28 show medals and has the enviable reputation of being the best Petit Verdot in Australia. From mature 35 year old vines that have consistently produced the highest quality fruit comes this very special release. Deep brick red in colour with a palate that shows cassis / blackcurrant flavours coupled with complex barrel characteristics. The finish is long with clean ripe fruit tannins � perfect with game dishes.
This vintage produced grapes of excellent quality, hand-picked from the oldest vineyard on the Pirramimma Estate � dry grown bush vines planted in the spring of 1944. The wine has an elegantly perfumed nose showing aromas of plums, cherries, violets and chocolate. These characters follow through to a complex palate that is long, rounded and flavoursome. Excellent drinking now but will reward careful cellaring for two to three years.
The grapes for this premium shiraz were harvested in March from vines that are over 30 years old. The normally low March rainfall allows the grapes to fully ripen and concentrate the flavour, colour and tannin. This release is deep red in colour with purple hues. The nose shows complex spicy, pepper aromas integrated with sweet vanillan oak. The palate is richly flavoured with spicy fruit and finishes with long lingering firm tannins This wine has the structure and breeding to continue to develop, with careful bottle maturation, for many years.
Pirramimma has produced this luscious port for many generations. Blended from Grenache, Shiraz and Pedro varieties of various selected ages, the youngest wine in the blend is twelve years old. The base wine was matured in old small oak barrels and then fortified with brandy spirit. The wine is light tawny in colour with the nose showing a rich, Rancio character. The palate is smooth and richly satisfying.
Made with hand picked grapes from sixty year old Grenache vines, this specially selected fortified wine was matured in small oak barriques at Pirramimma Estate. This has produced an exceptionally fine wine, rich and full bodied, with underlying fresh fruit flavours. A luscious desert wine exhibiting cherries and spices on the nose, complex mouth filling flavours lingering finish.
Following in the tradition of great Australian aged tawny ports, this luscious wine is named after Digby Johnston, who was responsible for making some of the memorable Pirramimma Ports of the 1950�s and 60�s. This richly flavoured port is produced from a blend of fully ripened Shiraz and Grenache grapes and, after fortification with selected brandy spirit, matured in small oak barrels for many years. The result is a port showing a rich rancio character and a smooth, satisfyingly fruity palate. For generations Pirramimma has been producing Tawny Ports of great character and flavour and the current blend is no exception.
