This super premium shiraz was made from high quality fruit, the majority of which was hand harvested from very old vines dry grown in the Barossa Valley. It was wild fermented and aged for 24 months in a combination of new and used French oak vessels made by the finest French coopers. Tasting note: A highly perfumed nose featuring a complex and heady array of fruit and subtle oak aromas. Deeply concentrated fruit flavours of blackberry, plum, blueberry and mulberry are joined by fine oak flavours on the seductively silky, velvety palate. The finish is extremely long and refined. Although approachable now, this superb wine will reward extended cellaring. Reviews: A deep vibrant violet core with ruby tints. The most vibrant colouring of the wines. On the nose, there are aromas of violet candies, black cherries and blueberry jubes. There’s also a slight clove and cinnamon spice that is likely imparted by the oak maturation of the wine. The palate is fresh and savoury with notes of black olive, sage, and a slight ferrous earthiness. The fruit is plummy and the wine is driven by long, fine and plentiful tannin. Balanced and young with 1 to 2 years before its drinking window opens. A wine with good finesse.
