We make wines from boutique wineries available to you with a few clicks of your mouse. The wineries on Virtual Cellar Door ship the wine purchased on this site direct to you from their own cellar door. As most are small wineries they can take advantage of the wine equalisation tax rebates to small producers, resulting in significant savings that in turn can be passed on to you. In 1999 this site introduced this unique method for any winery that is listed here to receive your order securely from the Internet. No middlemen are involved and all payments are handled at the actual winery for your total piece of mind.

Safe and Secure The process developed here uses industry standard "secure encryption" (SSL) to secure your personal details to allow an order for wine to be placed at this site. Your details are never transmitted in any insecure way, or disclosed to any source other than the winery you intended them for. This method acts in exactly the same way as placing a phone or fax order to the winery.

Automatic Costing Your order is totalled, complete with shipping costs, so you can see how much the order is costing prior to placing your final order.

Once the Winery has dispatched your wine, all your sensitive payment details are automatically deleted from this site's secure database - permanently.

Financial transaction Virtual Cellar Door does not process the financial transactions or the shipping of any order. Your order is handled at the winery exactly the same as if you were there in person.

Your Receipt When you have placed an order, you will receive a confirmation page and also an email receipt that will detail any information you may need to contact the winery directly should you need to, plus a unique order number that can allow the progress of your order to be tracked.

Limitations This is not a "shopping cart" feature as found on many wholesale Internet sites. Some wineries listed here offer discounts or free shipping if you purchase 12 or more bottles. Some of the listed wineries only have cellar door sales, so unless you plan to visit, this is your only way to get some of these fine wines. Because of this you can only place an order with one winery at a time, but creating your own mixed case is encouraged. You can however, place separate orders with multiple wineries.
