One of the pioneer vineyards - William Hill lies on the western outskirts of Alexandra where in the sun soaked, sandy location and the dry summers combine to produce quality fruit. The first commercial production in 1987 was quickly sold from the small vineyard. For years William Hill produced only a trickle of wine, but such was the demand the vineyard has since developed plantings of carefully selected clones. Our award winning wines reflect the characteristics of all Central Otago fruit, clean intense flavours. The wine is now made in the new winery and William Hill has been fortunate to have the services of consultant winemaker Gerry Rowland from California for the last three vintages to work along side the Grant family.
