James Estate contiues a tradition started some 30 years ago,when vineyard and winery practices were commenced on the estate property,situated in the Upper Hunter Valleya renowned quality vineyard area. Wines poduced from the estates own fruit have won in excess of 150 awards since the first commercial production.James Estate,through the developement of the estates vineyard capacity and full utilisation of its winemaking and storage facilities,produces premium quality wine for the domestic and export markets,in particular Japan,UK,USA,Germany and Switzerland. James Estate is located 20Km west of Denman, overlooking the Goulburn River surrounded by the Wollomi National Park.The property and winery covers 1500 acres and is currently producing the following varieties. White Varieties: Chardonnay,White Sylvaner, Semillon,Verdelho and Sauvignon Blanc. Red Varieties: Shiraz,Cabernet Sauvignon,Merlot, Cabernet Franc,Pinot Noir and Petite Verdot. The winery incorporates a fully integrated grape crushing and fermenting plant,and a wine manufacturing and bottling facility which is state of the art.Modern vinification equipment includes rotary fermentors and extensive vessel refrigeration systems, oak matuation storage facilities for in excess of 600 barrels, and bottling and labelling lines capable of producing 1500 bottles per hour.
